Don’t forget the lights

I’ve worked across a vast array of projects in my career. I think its just the nature of working in construction that there really are no two projects exactly alike and in working on every project you learn something new that takes your interest and capabilities to different project opportunities. In Summary, I’ve built offices, refurbished industrial buildings, built fine dining restaurants and upgraded commercial office lobbies – frequently all in the space of a couple of months. But in all of this diversity, quite often it becomes apparent that it is in the cutting of costs or by plain old mistake, that a key element may be overlooked. And this often is the lighting design.

New Look For Accor Hotel: Mercure Sydney Airport

The Mercure hotel at Wolli Creek has raised the bar in its mandate to update the lobby and bar area of their Sydney International Airport Hotel. Located only 10 minutes from Sydney International Airport, it is a busy hotel for leisure travelers and business people alike. Having recently refurbished other areas of the hotel in the 12 months prior to the bar refresh project, the owners of the hotel identified an opportunity to provide a food and beverage service which is unparalleled in the area while giving guests an opportunity to mingle in their down time.

ACME: Hidden Gem

There’s something cosy about a pocket restaurant or bar. ACME is a hidden gem of an authentic pasta restaurant, located down the more peaceful end of Bayswater Road and furthest away from the bright lights of Kings Cross, yet recognisable from the exterior by its aquamarine neon sign to light up this new establishment.

Understated yet fresh, the venue is split into various sections and nooks, including a downstairs area designed for large private bookings or parties. So whilst the restaurant could fit into an oversized pocket, it stills manages to create a cramp-free restaurant.
